Introduction

In much of the world, dogs and cats are considered beloved members of the family. While a few lucky ones in Uganda may have found a loving home, most are regarded as vermin and treated very poorly. Dogs and cats face danger around every corner, from being shot and poisoned on the streets, to being stoned due to outdated superstitions. It’s time for Ugandans to realise what wonderful companions these animals can make and treat them with the respect they deserve.
